You might know our name or even have used our products, but there’s a story behind Vision Engineering that’s about more than just microscopes.
For over 67 years, we’ve continuously supported engineers who rely on precision every day. Maintaining our founder’s legacy of being a British manufacturer and local employer, in 2017 we moved about 60 metres from our original factory into a larger, purpose built facility. It wasn’t just about space, but about setting the stage for the next chapter of what we do, without losing sight of the innovation and quality that got us to where we are today.
Vision Engineering was founded with a goal: build microscopes that make engineers’ jobs easier and more comfortable. Our microscopes are designed to make inspection easier and reduce strain, helping operators assemble ever-smaller components or inspect tiny parts more clearly.
From the outset, ergonomics has been central to our design philosophy as small comfort improvements boost productivity and accuracy. At the same time, our easy-to-use measurement systems provide accurate and repeatable performance.
Over the years, our products have evolved from traditional optics to digital microscopes and high accuracy measuring systems. When our Lynx EVO stereo microscope received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2020, it was a proud moment and a clear sign that innovation remains central to who we are.
But we’ve never stood still. As customers approached us asking for more than optics, we stepped up. We expanded into prototyping, machining, assembly and supply chain support. That growth culminated in the formation of a business unit of Vision Engineering that is known today as Vision Engineering Technology Partnerships.
Today, we work alongside precision industries, from Medical Technology to Aerospace to Defence, offering full product development and manufacturing support. We hold ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications, and our team are able to tackle any part of the product development process, from initial design through to finished production. Our aim is simple: help you deliver on time, every time, without compromising quality.
